Kangana Ranaut says ‘free-spirited’ women are called witches, Samantha agrees
Kangana Ranaut made a post about women being connected to their higher self, ‘carrying an infectious free spirit’, which is often not understood by society, and they are labelled witches.
Actor Kangana Ranaut on Sunday, October 20, made a post about women being called witches. She shared a viral post on X, and added to it by writing about women who “break all boundaries” and find difficulty being accepted by society. Her big tweet found a fan in fellow actor Samantha, who shared the screenshot of the post on her Instagram stories, tagging Kangana.
The actor, who is also a BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, shared a post made by a user named John Collins. The post read, “Don’t be afraid of witches, be afraid of the ones who burned them (sic).” Kangana went on to add her own two cents in a note and wrote, “Witches are women who are connected to their higher self, their intuition, infectious free spirit, indomitable will power and uncontrollable urge to break all boundaries make them mysterious, frightening and threatening to those who are caged and cursed (sic).”
She continued, “Caged people believe that gifted people have some evil powers and they must be burnt to ashes, misery exists in so many forms and jealousy is the most miserable of them all. You can choose to be jealous or be inspired, make a smart choice, those who choose to be inspired are the chosen ones, break the cage and break free (sic).”
The context in which Kangana made that post is not clear yet. However, one can go back to people labelling her as a witch after a viral interview by her ex-boyfriend, Adhyayan Suman, in which he talked about feeling eerie at her place “which was covered in black curtains”. He said his actor girlfriend had prepared for a puja with “some random statues of God, fire all around and some scary things kept in the puja“.
Meanwhile, Samantha agreed with Kangana’s definition of a witch and wrote, “Word!!” while sharing her note on Instagram.
