Suriya On Shifting To Mumbai With Family: ‘Jyotika Gave Up Her Career, Friends…’
South superstar Suriya discusses his family’s move to Mumbai post-pandemic and his actress-wife Jyotika’s career growth.
Tamil superstar Suriya recently opened up about his family’s post-pandemic decision to relocate to Mumbai, a move that’s changed their lifestyle in unexpected ways. Suriya and his wife, actress Jyotika, now live primarily in Mumbai with their children, Diya and Dev, who are enrolled in local schools. For the family, the shift offers a balance between Jyotika’s career revival and a more grounded lifestyle for their kids, away from the spotlight.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Suriya reflected on Jyotika’s move, saying, “Jyotika shifted to Chennai when she was 18 or 19 and lived there for 27 years. She was with me, my family, and she gave up her career, friends, and her Bandra lifestyle. After COVID, there was a need for change.” The move to Mumbai, Suriya explained, has opened more creative opportunities for Jyotika, allowing her to work on diverse projects with fresh perspectives.
