Siddhant Chaturvedi’s performance in ‘Gehraiyaan’ received acclaim for its raw and intense chemistry with Deepika Padukone. However, it was the film’s intimate scenes that truly sparked conversation and caught the audience’s attention. Behind the scenes, Siddhant revealed the challenges he faced while filming these pivotal moments.
In a candid interview with Filmfare, Siddhant Chaturvedi admitted to being extremely nervous during the intimate scenes with Deepika Padukone. The pressure was so overwhelming that even his father and the film’s producer, Karan Johar, stepped in to offer support and encouragement.
Siddhant recounted how his father played a crucial role in helping him overcome his anxiety. His father reassured him that many actors would seize such an opportunity without hesitation. He advised Siddhant to approach the scenes with professionalism and to view them as an integral part of his job.
“He told me that many people in India would not let such an opportunity slip away and would approach it with full commitment,” Siddhant shared. His father’s words were clear: this was a chance to make a significant impact and improve as an actor.
Karan Johar also reached out to Siddhant, addressing his concerns and encouraging him to handle the situation professionally. Johar’s advice was to see the intimate scenes as a part of his work, reinforcing the notion that they were essential to the film’s narrative and his growth as an actor.
Siddhant revealed that his naturally shy disposition was a challenge, as he often hesitated to take initiative. The encouragement from his father and Karan Johar helped him reframe his approach, understanding that the collaboration with notable figures like Dharma Productions, Deepika Padukone, and director Shakun Batra was an invaluable opportunity.
Released on February 11, 2022, Gehraiyaan featured a talented ensemble cast including Ananya Panday, Kanupriya Gupta, Dhairya Karwa, Yamini Joshi, and Naseeruddin Shah.
