Mannara Chopra Reveals Priyanka Chopra Is ‘Proud’ Of Her For Not Using Family Name In BB17; ‘Gave Me Good Tips’Over the years, Mannara Chopra has carved out a name for herself. Her appearance on the popular reality TV show Bigg Boss’ seventeenth season in 2023 made her a household name.
On Bigg Boss 17, Mannara emerged as the second runner-up. Before her Bigg Boss appearance, Mannara starred in Tamil movies such as Thikka, Rogue, and Sita.
But, despite being the cousin of Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra and successful Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, Mannara’s film career never really took off.
In fact, even on Bigg Boss, Mannara Chopra didn’t once mention her cousins at any point in the show. Fans misconstrued this to be a sign about there being a rift between Mannara and cousins Priyanka and Parineeti.
Recently, during an appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube show, Mannara spoke about her relationship with Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra, and explained why she never mentioned them while in the Bigg Boss house.
Talking about the same, Mannara said, “If I would take my family’s name, they would have called me a ‘nepo kid.’ They would have said that I don’t have a personality. Now that I didn’t take their names, they created another story that my relationship with my sisters is not good. My relations are very sorted. I am a very loving child and I have learned this from my mother.”
Explaining further why she didn’t take their names, Mannara added, “I really wanted people to see me and who I am, and I wanted to fight my own battle. When I walk into meetings and look tests, that is just me standing alone in those parameters. And after Bigg Boss, if people in the industry are talking to me, they are interacting with me because of the comfort which I am giving from my end. Of course, they know I come from a certain family, but it is also because of how I project myself. It’s all about you at the end of the day. I avoided the names because I knew it was a personality show, and I had to show my personality.”
Mannara then praised her cousin Priyanka Chopra, who has achieved international fame in the last seven years ever since she starred in the 2017 movie Baywatch.
Talking about Priyanka, Mannara said, “She had a strong impact on all the cousins. She has always projected herself as a strong and independent woman. I looked up to her growing up because I noticed how she could buy things on her own. She could stay in the best of the places, do whatever she wants, and rule the world according to her terms. That was something I imbibed from her. That was something that got inside me.”
