The excitement surrounding Project K was so immense that some people may take time to accept the new title, Kalki 2898 AD, and realize that both titles refer to the same movie.
The makers have been tantalizing audiences with major updates, revealing the first look, changing the title, and teasing glimpses, all of which are building anticipation for the film’s release. A few weeks ago, the first glimpse of the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Notably, Deepika Padukone was absent from the event, as were other cast members including Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani.
While Deepika Padukone was missed at the big event, Prabhas did not hold back in showering praise upon her. This collaboration marks the first time the two actors from the South film industry and Bollywood are sharing the screen.
Prabhas spoke highly of Deepika, referring to her as the biggest superstar and a beautiful lady who is making waves globally. He also acknowledged her international appeal through her commercials for Louis Vuitton and TAM ADEX.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Prabhas expressed his admiration for Deepika, saying, “She is the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady.” He added that her fame extends globally, and he has always been impressed by her vibrant presence on set. Prabhas revealed that he had always wanted to work with Deepika, and Kalki 2898 AD provided him with the opportunity to do so for the first time.
Director Nag Ashwin also weighed in on Deepika Padukone’s casting, stating that she plays an important character, and the audience will understand the significance of her role over time. Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin and boasts an ensemble cast featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, one of the renowned production houses in the South, Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 12, 2024.
