BTS’ Jungkook Declined Usher’s Invitation To Perform At The 2024 Super Bowl, Here’s Why

When BTS’s Jungkook announced the remix version of Standing Next to You last year, fans were thrilled, especially with the rumours of a potential collaboration with Usher. Not long after, it was confirmed that Usher would indeed feature in the remix! With this news, many fans hoped to witness the two icons performing together at the prestigious Super Bowl halftime show. Recently, excitement grew when online posts revealed that Jungkook had actually received an offer to perform at the event.

According to Billboard, Usher had invited Jungkook to perform the remix at the Super Bowl, but unfortunately, Jungkook had to turn it down due to his mandatory military service.

This revelation disappointed many Korean fans, who felt it was a missed golden opportunity for him, reports Koreaboo.

During the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, Usher reportedly delivered an electrifying medley of 11 songs, showing the breadth of his musical legacy. Now, everyone is eagerly awaiting to see who will grace the stage for the 2025 Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the year has been going pretty well for Jungkook too.

Most recently, his journey as a solo artist is documented in the newly released documentary titled Jung Kook: I Am Still, presented by PVRINOX Pictures released in India. The film offers a deep dive into Jungkook’s solo career, documenting his incredible transition from BTS’s global spotlight to creating his own identity.

Released in India on September 21 and 22, just two days after its premiere in South Korea, the film allowed fans to witness the intense eight-month journey Jungkook took on to create his solo album, Golden.

Golden stayed on the Billboard 200 for 24 consecutive weeks. Viewers were treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, personal interviews and concert footage, showing the passion and hard work that went behind Jungkook’s solo endeavours.

At present, Jungkook is serving in the South Korean military with Jimin, under a buddy system. He enlisted in the military, along with Jimin, on December 12, 2023. Both the members are expected to get discharged and come back by September next year.
