Indian playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya is in the headlines following a series of controversial statements and revealing some secrets from within the industry. Recently, Abhijeet revealed that rivals of Shah Rukh Khan mocked him as ‘hakla’ behind his back. He also talked about his tiff with SRK. However, when it came to Salman Khan, the singer said, “He is not on my level and I never supported him.”
Recently, during his long tell-all interview with Subhankar Mishra on the latter’s unplugged podcast, Abhijeet disclosed his equation with Salman Khan.
Abhijeet said, “Honestly, Salman Khan isn’t at the level where I should even talk about him. I might have professional issues with Shah Rukh Khan, but he is a different class altogether.”
Notably, when Salman was charged with the alleged hit-and-run case, Abhijeet blamed the people who were sleeping on the footpath. While it was seen as a support for the actor from the industry, Abhijeet denied the claims.
Abhijeet said that he still stands by his opinion. His statement wasn’t made in support of the superstar.
Abhijeet said, “What I told was that if you sleep on the roads, then such things will happen. Any alcoholic or pervert can run their vehicle over people if they are sleeping on the roads like dogs. It doesn’t mean I support him.”
Well, there are multiple songs of Abhijeet picturised on SRK. Most of the songs became hits and can be still found in the playlists of music lovers. The journey that began with 1994 film Anjaam, ended with 2009’s Billu. Notably, Abhijeet wanted to only sing for his Baadshah star.
On the other hand, Abhijeet had also delivered a number of hit songs picturised on Salman Khan, with Chunari Chunari, Tan Tana Tan, Chori Chori Sapnon Mein and Ek Chanchal Shokh Hassena being the most loved.
“Those are not any star’s songs. Those are my songs. I have never asked who I was singing for. Except for Shah Rukh Khan, I never saw anyone else as big enough stars,” said Abhijeet.
