”Indian Olympic Association remained hopeful of a positive resolution of wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s application before the Ad hoc Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against her failed weigh-in,” the IOA said in a statement.

”Since the matter is sub-judice, IOA can only state that the Sole Arbitrator Dr. Annabelle Bennett AC SC (Australia) heard all parties applicant Vinesh Phogat, the respondents United World Wrestling and the International Olympic Committee as well as IOA as an interested party over three hours,” the IOA stated.

”It was indicated by the Sole Arbitrator that the operative part of the order may be expected soon, with a detailed order with reasons to follow thereafter,” the IOA said.

Can India get one more medal on Day 15? Reetika Hooda will start her women’s 76kg freestyle wrestling campaign today. She is the first heavyweight women’s wrestler to qualify from India.

Olympics 2024 LIVE: On the penultimate day of the Paris Olympics 2024, India will have three athletes in medal contention. So far India have won six medals with the latest coming from Aman Sehrawat who won bronze in the men’s freestyle wrestling event on Friday.

All eyes will also be on the verdict from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for a joint silver at the Paris Olympics. The hearing was concluded on Friday.

Also on Saturday, Reetika Hooda will look to win another wrestling medal for the country as she starts her campaign against eighth seed and Hungary’s Bernadett Nagy. Reetika is the first wrestler from India to qualify for women’s 76kg freestyle category.

The first event for India on Day 15 of the Paris Olympics 2024 will be the women’s gold tournament in which Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will look for a memorable final round to hope for a medal. They were just outside the top 10 after the first two rounds but Aditi and Diksha have now dropped to T40 and T42 after the third round on Friday.
