In a recent interview, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor opened up about the pervasive fascination surrounding star kids, emphasizing that the interest extends far beyond their own children, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh.
Saif elaborated on how the public’s curiosity regarding star kids is not confined to mere intrigue but permeates various facets of popular culture. He cited the example of Zoya Akhtar’s recent period musical, “The Archies,” where the focus has predominantly been on actors who hail from illustrious Bollywood lineages. “The audience and people are so interested in star kids. I mean, look at ‘The Archies,’ for example. We’ve only been talking about certain actors who are star kids,” Saif remarked, underscoring the widespread fascination with celebrity offspring.
The couple reflected on the relentless media attention directed towards their younger sons, Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan, expressing concern over their constant surveillance by cameras and paparazzi. Saif lamented, “I mean they’re constantly being photographed, constantly being followed. Tomorrow, if someone wants to make a movie with one of them, it’s not rocket science. Because someone would obviously be thinking of their popularity.” This scrutiny prompted the couple to reiterate their desire to shield their children from the glare of the spotlight, emphasizing that while they may have biologically brought them into the world, it is the media and audience that ultimately shape their status as “star kids.”
Saif’s family dynamic encompasses four children, with Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan from his first marriage to actor Amrita Singh, and Taimur and Jeh from his union with Kareena Kapoor.
Meanwhile, Saif prepares for his upcoming project, Koratala Siva’s Telugu action thriller “Devara: Part 1,” where he will share screen space with Jr NTR. The highly anticipated film, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor, is slated for release on April 5th, promising audiences a riveting cinematic experience.
